Batman fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the latest movie in the series, The Dark Knight Rises, but they'll have to rush to get tickets if they want to see it in IMAX 3D. The BFI IMAX is the only cinema in London which will screen the film the way the movie was meant to be presented.

The movie features 55 mins of footage shot on IMAX cameras, filmed by director Christopher Nolan.

In the movie Christian Bale reprises his role as Batman with Anne Hathaway playing Catwoman. Tom Hardy plays a new, extremely sinister masked villain called Bane.

Director Nolan has said the film will not reference villain The Joker, played by Heath Ledger who died in 2008.

"We're not addressing the Joker at all," says Nolan. "This is something I felt strongly about in terms of my relationship with him on The Dark Knight. I didn't want in any way to try and account for a rea-life tragedy. That seemed inappropriate to me. We just have a new set of characters and a continuation of Bruce Wayne's story, not involving the Joker."
