Autumn Leaves

Having become close friends, Millicent Wetherby (Joan Crawford) is persuaded to marry Burt Hanson (Cliff Robertson), a man half her age. Their lives take an unexpected turn when the sudden appearance of an ex-wife, Virginia (Vera Miles), reveals that Burt was married once before. Though having been told that his father (Lorne Greene) is dead, she learns that he, too, is very much alive and in town. As Burt's lies unravel, their marriage becomes a nightmare when Milly finds Mr. Hanson in bed with Virginia. And upon realizing that it was this same illicit affair that caused Burt to lose his mind, Milly has him committed to an institution, left only to hope that he will, one day, emerge a sane man.
