The year is 1962, and three 18-year-old friends are about to go in different directions: Roy (Jason Priestley), the self-appointed leader and the one with the endless supply of smooth talk and crazy ideas, is off to the Army; Scott (Jerry O’Connell) a born follower, is headed to the altar; and sensitive, buttoned-down Ned (Gabriel Olds), a walking encyclopedia of Marilyn Monroe trivia, will go to college. But Roy convinces them to take a weekend off from their small Nevada town and head for Hollywood in his father’s “borrowed” convertible. When Roy’s loan shark employers learn that the trip is being financed by an unauthorized loan, they set out after the boys. Through the chaos that ensues, the boys may actually get the chance to fulfill their dream of meeting Marilyn Monroe.
