The French Lieutenant's Woman

Thursday 4 August, 9pm
On a blustery day in March, 1867, Charles Smithson, with his fiancee Ernestina on his arm, strolled out to the Cobb at Lyme Regis in Dorset, England. On this squally day, the dark cloaked figure of a woman stood at its furthermost tip, simply staring out to sea and attracting the notice of a newly-betrothed couple. Charles Smithson was concerned for the strange woman’s safety...he should really have been concerned for his own.
